The recent discovery of Rutland Roman Villa hit the headlines and deservedly so! It is such a fascinating site with so much still to reveal. Of particular significance is the discovery of a fabulous mosaic depicting scenes from Homer's Iliad. So far, this is unique in Roman Britain.
Last Thursday the lead archaeologist, Dr Jennifer Browning (of ULAS), gave a wonderful talk about the work she and her team have been doing. It was followed by a Q & A session hosted by Peter Liddle, Chair of the Leicestershire Fieldworkers. Congratulations to everyone involved!
